$1,490,000 settlement of injured ironworker

After a two day long mediation, Telly C. Nakos procured a settlement for a Local 1 ironworker for $1,490,000. The ironworker was forced to lift various pieces of bar joists with a rope due to the fact the crane on the job site was improperly positioned. The ironworker suffered a back injury requiring a lumbar fusion.

The general contractor, who was named as a defendant in the case, highly disputed this version of the incident and further maintained that the crane was properly positioned.

The second day of the mediation process lasted into the late evening. Settlement was eventually reached by O’Connor & Nakos on behalf of our client.
